It smells like comet in here!

Recently the Rosetta satellite dropped the Philae lander onto the surface of a comet called 67P.  They discovered a lot interesting information, not the least of which is that comets emit a massive amount of hydrogen sulfide and ammonia.  What does this mean?  Comets smell god awful!  It’s like mixing the smell of rotten eggs with that of horse manure- scientifically speaking.

So comets may not be the celestial wonders we used to look upon so fondly, as much as they are intergalactic poo being flung across the universe.  The more you know…
